new studio

(this isn't for us, I guess, but for other people asking me what we're up to...)

So we managed to find a pretty nice studio space, in downtown Durham. Our neighbors in the building are a stained glass artist, a soon-to-be-opened restaurant, and the Branch Gallery. In the space itself, there's a letterpress company, a video documentary artist, and a practice space for the Mountain Goats. Our space is the area in the front, about 350 sq ft, with a 20 ft wall, and a share of the common space in the back. We've already put up 5 4x8 sheets of homosote to put work up on, and are still working on organizing supplies and whatnot. This coming week, we'll be working on setting up a screen printing station, probably in the area between the doors and the large windows.

The second door from the right, and the window to the left is ours.

Sort of a walk through of the space, as of Wendesday.

Two views of the letterpress shop.

Common space and video editing area.

So, all in all we're pretty excited and it's been good to get working. More images later of some of the newer work coming out, as Ben and I are working day jobs and this could be a good place to crit the work. You know, on breaks and stuff.
