November Exhibition, The Art Hospital

This past November 16th and 17th, Fort Grunt had a short exhibition at the Art Hospital in Bloomington, Indiana. We decided to focus on the two main bodies of work from the first 6 months of this project, the large, multipart "War in Heaven" paintings and the small, woodblock mounted painting that are part of the the minimum-wage pricing policy.

The exhibition went pretty well, Lou drove up to Bloomington on Thursday, despite a broken toe, and installed Friday for the opening that night, which also included two bands, Bang Bang and Push/Pull. The exhibition was up for the following night for a 4 band show, including this guy Thanksgiving from Portland who was pretty good, and a band of high schoolers from Muncie who weren't.

Anyone looking for a venue to show work should consider the Art Hospital- the exhibition space is amazing, with large walls to work with, and is part of a growing number of multi-use places popping up- in this case, the Hospital has 5 studios for artist-members, the exhibition space and a stage/pa for rock shows, for both local and touring acts. I was asked by a few people if the show was on tour, like a band, which at first sounds silly but has planted the idea of a network of similar spaces where shows would be up for on a few days and move on, only for openings... seems like a possiblity.

Anywho, on to the pictures-
